Membership Requirements
~ Applicant must be an Indian English creative writer (published/unpublished)
~ Applicant must fill the registration form and provide necessary details.
~ Applicant must follow the guidelines of group.
~ Applicant may belong to any age group/ experience/ genre. However, Erotica is prohibited.
~ Applicant must be able to take criticism of his/her work and must be able to contribute to the critique process for others' work
~ Applicant must be able to consistently attend meetings (online/onsite as per their membership)
Based on the fulfillment of these requirements, the membership of Golden Quill will be granted to the writers. Following information is also important for the members, please go through it.
Meeting Scheduling
~ The online as well as onsite meetings would be generally scheduled on Saturdays/Sundays every week and convenience of members would be taken into account as much as possible. Members are requested to attend these meetings.
~ Online members would be given details about the meeting and critique procedures once they are granted membership.
~ Members (online/onsite) would be informed through sms/email/call about any updates regarding meetings' date/time/place.
~ Onsite members will get their weekly newsletters during the meetings.
~ Online members will be able to download newsletters from the Golden Quill google group.
Meeting Structure
~ In every meeting, at the beginning, all the members will report their week's writing activity in order to keep a record of their work's progress.
~ Online meeting and critique process will be informed to online members, separately, once they join the group.
~ Onsite meetings will have then a reading and critique session in which the members will present their works one by one and other members will provide critique on it.
~ One member can bring maximum 10 pages for critique in each meeting. If time permits, this number may be higher.
~ Members can read their works aloud or provide the copies of their work (to be duly returned) to other members for silent reading.
~ After each reading session, other members will provide critique on the work, orally or written, as per the choice of writer of the work being discussed.
Member Expectations
~ Each member is expected to attend the meetings (even if they do not have a reading session but just have to give critique).
~ Each member is expected to maintain a proper code of conduct during the meetings and others tasks of the group.
~ Each member is expected to bring his/her original work during his/her reading session in meeting.
~ Each member is expected to provide critique on others' works keeping in mind the guidelines.
~ Each member is expected to notify Golden Quill, if he/she cannot attend a meeting.
~ Members are expected to use their own discretion while exchanging their personal contact information.
Addition of new members
~ New members may be introduced by any active member or may register themselves and must meet all the membership requirements
Contests and events
~ Golden Quill will organize contests and events for its members (online/onsite) from time to time, information about which is available in Other Information section.
~ All members will be informed about the events and contests personally too at the appropriate time.
~ Golden Quill's decisions will be acceptable to all members.
